I can only guess that this was an experiment to determine whether, in a 2 hour flick, you can make up for only having 10 minutes of plot and 5 minutes of dialogue with 105 minutes of scenes of destruction. The answer is: you can't. And like many experiments, it leaves its subjects dead.
